Short bio

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) - Porto Alegre, Brazil. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Pampa in 2016. During graduation in 2014, I went on an 18-month exchange to Dublin Business School in Ireland, where I studied topics related to cloud computing and computer networking (and also played rugby in the university league). I obtained my master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the same federal university in Brazil in 2018. The following year, in 2019, I started my Ph.D. studies at PUCRS, and I am expected to finish it in early 2023.

During the masters and Ph.D., I helped guide undergraduate students in several scientific initiation projects. I also had a couple of classroom experiences teaching about data structs, compilers, data-oriented programming, and programming fundamentals.

My research interests focus on understanding, designing, and evaluating parallel systems at any level, from parallel architectures to parallel applications and their enabling frameworks and run-time supports. My research topics include stream processing, parallel architectures, performance benchmarking, and parallel programming.

I am currently working on SPBench: a benchmarking framework for enabling easy evaluation of stream processing systems in C++.
