On July 20th, the 40th edition of the Scientific Initiation Works Competition (CTIC 2021) took place remotely during the Brazilian Computer Society Congress (CSBC 2021), which in 2021 took place from July 18 to 23. The CTIC takes place annually with the objective of encouraging undergraduate students in the area of Computing to produce original scientific papers about their work. The event selects exceptional papers developed by undergraduate students, which are published in the CSBC annals in a special edition of the Revista Eletrônica de Iniciação Científica em Computação (REIC), and awarded.
This year, GMAP member Júnior Löff’s paper is among the top 3 works in CTIC 2021 (see more). The paper entitled “Improving automatic parallel code generation for the multi-core stream processing paradigm” (link) won 2nd place. This work was done by Júnior Löff, advised by Dr. Luiz Gustavo Fernandes and co-advised by Dr. Dalvan Griebler. Júnior Löff started at GMAP as an undergraduate student when he was a Computer Engineering student at PUCRS. He is currently a master’s student in the Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCC) at the School of Technology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS).
